Swan Lake Like You've Never Seen It Before

A friend of mine showed me this video the other day and I was absolutely astounded at what I saw. I had to watch it another time to just believe it was real. Although I do find the performance incredible and a testament to what kind of art can be made with the human body (like when she was moving her legs and beautifully imitating swan wings), I find myself hesitating to call it beautiful. I'm still conflicted about this, but I think the reason I'm hesitating is because just underneath my amazement I find myself thinking, "That must HURT!" I'm not sure what the complications of being so flexible are for her, but that man must be in a world of pain and stress (the stress definitely can go for her, too). At one point she is spinning around, on one leg, on tip toe, on his head! I'm sure if I could just get past seeing it as painful, I would definitely be able to call it beautiful. I feel that dancing has been brought up frequently on the blog because it is the art of the human body in motion, and this performance is an absolutely exquisite display of the art form.
