Church of the Gesu

The Church of the Gesu in Rome is intense. It's very baroque with lots of gold and marble everywhere. One of my favorite parts however is something that made me laugh at the altar of St. Ignatius. The statue is of the Virgin Mary pulling out Martin Luther's hair while a baby angel tears out pages of his written work. It just was something I did not expect to see in a church.
